About The Studio

Zhihui Design Studio was founded on September 1st, 2024 in Germany by product designer Zhihui Liu. As a one-woman creative force, the studio is home to both her past signature works and all future explorations. Known for its innovation in silicone-based material design, the studio focuses on the emotional and sensory potential of touch.

One of its most recognized projects, LET ME TOUCH YOU, combines soft robotics with a unique silicone formulation to create interactive, deeply human pieces. This is my master graduation project. I used a special kind of silicone and soft robotics technology to design a set of products that can touch people. This work received a lot of attention. I was invited by both ambiente talents and ambiente trends to participate in their exhibitions in Frankfurt in January 2024 and was also invited by German Design Graduates to the Dutch Design Week in October of the same year. At the exhibitions I realized that people were interested in the silicone material I was using and saw the potential of touch products. So one year after my graduation I started my own studio and brand zaiye with this silicone material.
